ABOUT CASTRO CLIVE

And then I took the One less travelled by.....

My journey in the world of education and professional development has always been about one thing: finding the perfect harmony between human connection and technological innovation. Over the last twelve years, I have transitioned from the front of the classroom to the strategic heart of Learning and Development (L&D), driven by a passion for creating learning experiences that truly stick.
My path began in the lecture halls of institutions like Mar Ivanios and Marian Engineering College, where I taught English literature and rhetoric. It was during these years of shaping young minds that I realized a “one-size-fits-all” approach was a relic of the past. This realization sparked a pursuit of professional excellence; in 2017, while balancing my teaching responsibilities, I successfully cleared the UGC National Eligibility Test (NET), solidifying my standing in the academic community.
As I moved into specialized roles training engineering students and medical professionals I began to ask: how can we use tools like AI not just as gadgets, but as ethical frameworks to empower every learner? This curiosity led me to bridge the gap between teaching and high-level research. In 2024, I formally began my PhD journey at the University of Kerala, focusing on the integration of Artificial Intelligence in English Language Teaching (ELT).
This academic rigor has been the backbone of my corporate transition. I have led L&D at Inverted Coconut and Skill Lync, training over 3,000 learners and building curricula from the ground up. Today, I spend my time at the intersection of theory and practice. I research how AI-based personalization can break down barriers in the classroom while simultaneously designing corporate training programs that drive organizational performance. For me, education is more than delivering information it’s about designing the future of how we grow, learn, and lead.

Professional Experience

I am a Learning & Development professional, corporate communication trainer, and educator with over 12+ years of experience in training, teaching, curriculum development, and communication skill enhancement. Throughout my career, I have worked with students, professionals, and organizations to improve communication abilities, employability skills, workplace confidence, and professional growth.

My experience includes working as a Corporate Communication Faculty, where I trained students from diverse fields including Logistics, Hospital Administration, Digital Marketing, and Corporate Administration. I focused on helping learners strengthen their soft skills, interview preparation, HR readiness, spoken English, presentation skills, and overall professional communication.

I have also worked as an Academic Counsellor for undergraduate and postgraduate learners, guiding students in English language and literature studies through learner-focused teaching methods and academic mentoring.

For five years, I served as an OET Interlocutor with Cambridge University Press, conducting speaking assessments for healthcare professionals appearing for the Occupational English Test (OET). This experience enhanced my expertise in professional communication assessment and international language evaluation standards.

In the Learning & Development sector, I have led curriculum planning, e-learning content management, mentor training, and learning strategy development. I have experience designing and delivering structured training programs that support learner engagement, skill development, and professional growth.

As a Senior Trainer in Language and Communication, I have conducted both online and offline training sessions for graduate students and corporate employees. My training areas include communication skills, soft skills, customer support communication, process training, sales communication, technical communication, Train-the-Trainer sessions, SOP training, and refresher programs.

Alongside corporate training, I have several years of teaching experience as an Assistant Professor in reputed academic institutions. I have taught English literature, communication, rhetoric, and composition while also developing course materials, preparing curriculum, mentoring students, and supporting academic learning environments.

My approach combines practical communication strategies, modern learning methods, and technology-driven education to create engaging and effective learning experiences. I strongly believe in continuous learning, professional development, and helping individuals build confidence through communication and skill enhancement.
